I like your website and its information content.
I would definitely be interested if I lived nearby

My only concern is revealing your location to the world that you don't know.
It's something I'm paranoid about, and I just wonder if the location details plus your photos are too idenitifying ... maybe only have part of your house in the photos.
Not knowing your location, I have no idea if it would be easy to find you from what you have said and shown, but I just had to say something about this.

And, congratulations on your first client !

Thanks Leanne, you have made a good point, however you'd have to try REALLY hard to find this place, I have a lot of bushes along the front fence and there are a few other houses up here that look very similar. It's not impossible, but I am a long way out from suburbia (which is why I offer transport otherwise I'd have no clients lol). None of the angles in the photos can be seen from the road, so I think I should be okay. Even when I give my addy and directions, most people drive straight past it!

Picked up the dog today, he's a lovely boy, a true busy body, he and Roger chased each other solidly for about 20 minutes, now they are both worn out and crashed on a sofa each!

No I haven't heard anything, I'm going to call him tomorrow.

I think the Roger here is a pig in disguise, he eats like one!

I've just sent out an email to my clients telling them about the website and asking for their feedback - I hope SOME of them sign my guestbook!

    Hi!

Your site looks great for a free site. However from a marketing perspective a proper website with its own domain name and no hosting provider ads or messages would look much more professional and be more flexible as well. I work as an SEO specialist full time and have seen all too many woes with websites which don't have enough flexibility and I'm not sure what kinds of options Webs.com offers in terms of code optimisation etc., but I assume it wouldn't be much.

This is important because if people can't find your website, why have one? And the trend in search engine usage has been growing so much that you can be sure that a large portion of your competitors would be doing SEO to the best of their ability.

So - in conclusion - if you ever decide to steer away from the free hosting provider version and get your own hosting plan, I'd be happy to offer you space on my plan for free. I have so much of it and unless you get hundreds or thousands of visitors each day (which uses up bandwidth) it shouldn't be a problem at all. I'd also be happy to advise you with SEO should you ever choose to go down that path.

Other than that, the site itself looks very nice Congrats on taking that first step!

Thanks Liza, I read your post this morning when my brain hadn't kicked into gear, later I was talking to a friend and she mentioned a few things that made sense of some of your posts! I will PM you later, there are a few storms floating around. I really have no idea about websites, how they work etc so would love some advice (and translation of web-speak!).

Okay peeps, things have changed as far as the website! I had no idea that there were annoying banner ads on the free site, let alone from my competitors! Not impressed. Even if I just typed in the addy it never showed any ads on my computer, bit sneaky really. Thank dog someone told me!

So, thanks to a wonderful website angel, I have finally got my own domain name and have been squirreling away getting ANOTHER site up and running with NO ads! It's not as cutesy as the first one, but I hope it's just as good/appealing. I've actually had a heap of fun learning how to do it!

Once again, can I ask for feedback please? The actual text etc is the same, and layout is very similar, but I've added a gallery to this one.
