Occy - are you sure this isn't a recipe for food poisoning?

If you keep it warm - you need to keep it hotter than 60'C. Otherwise need to cool it right down to <4'C and then heat it up. 2 hours of luke warm is enough to be poisonous. Theoretically.

Rice is apparently one of the worst things for food poisoning but I found when I was travelling it was one of the only safe things - go figure.

Well then I might need to cool it down and put it in the fridge.

Saying that - Ive often made food and left it around - for example the pizza I made two days ago I ate yesterday - it was just sitting inthe oven - admittedly - last night i whipped the toppings off and chucked em to the dog and threw the base out lol

Ive only had food poisoning once - from fish - ergh

prob is by the time it cools down enough for the fridge it will be time to reheat lol

At any rate - it isn't ready yet - Im using the wrong rice so had to add more water

Will cooked rice give you food poisoning if it's not stored in the fridge? - Health & Wellbeing

there are your rice facts - I guess I will need to put it in the fridge when it cools down enough for me to touch the bottom of the pot

    It's a wonder I haven't poisoned my dog, sigh.

Mind you I left her food to cool down for an hour or more last night (for as long as we went for our walk) and it was still too hot to handle when I put it in containers for freezing, so I packed those with ice in an esky until they cooled off enough to put in the Fridge without buggering that up, but it was about 4 litres of food so takes a while to give up the heat.
