But I AM Australian, so how could I have failed the test? *weeps*

    It's because I don't have a beer belly, isn't it?

Yes, Dorothy, you are not in Kansas any more.

    Aww bummer.

But I do notice that nobody has answered me yet as to WHY we are all supposed to "BBQ like you've never BBQ'ed before!" (Well, that's what the ad in the paper said.)

    Hmmm????

Giggle away. It's all Di's fault, she keeps poking tongues at me. I know she's trying to act as mature as I am, but...

*Do you think it's the pink hair doing it to her?*

You're clearly not going to get a response from the "vegos".

True, I'm not. I saw the ad in our local paper, and husband said there was a stupid ad on TV about BBqing like there's no tomorrow. I'm like WTF?

I got no clue. Australia day is just another day in my household.

I'm just very pleased & incredibly chuffed to be seeing some happy, fun filled posts again. This forum is a bit of a sanctuary for me & I genuinely like everyone here. When it gets a bit bitchy & heated, I get very sad. I know it's not a perfect world *sigh*, but I like it when we all get along.

Aussie day seems to be a day that we all just do something Aussie and what is more traditional than a BBQ?

Most small towns do their citizen awards, local aussie of the year after a breakfast BBQ done by Lions or whatever for a small fee. There is generally an Australia day Ambasadore that comes as well. This year we have someone high up in the Cancer council. Other years it can be athletes, authors, what ever. I usually don't go every year but did last year and will this year, any excuse to show off me pink "do"
