Kassie there's nothing wrong about discussing your period. It's normal and natural.

Judge, we just meant it's better she learns about the menstrual cycle from her mother..She took that to mean don't talk about it.

    Oh Ok I get it.

Its ok to talk about it Kassie but I think it would be a better idea to talk to your mum about it first rather than hearing it on a forum.

Oh and its nothing bad either.

    So...Here's an personal question..

How'd you all 'learn' about the wonders of the womanly world? Mum just left books 'lying around' so we never had the awkward conversation.

    Um...
    I have no idea actually.
When I was in year five, these girls in year six came to a group of us and said 'ladies, if you ever need to ask one of us about periods or something, feel free. We'll meet you in the bathrooms."
And I was dragged along xD
I always had a vague idea about it. But it wasnt until I got mine half way through 2008 that I really sat down and looked it up.
Um, out of interest (WARNING: TMI AHEAD) did it hurt when you put your first tampon in?

I found out when my hymen broke in my sleep...started bleeding and went to the toilet.

Completely freaked out and woke mum up! lol so mum had to explain...we are pretty open about things with one another so its all good

    TMI:

I suffer from thrush on a regular basis because of my skin allergies so dont use tampons at all. Also no smelly or print toilet paper and only wash my "bits" with sorberlene cream in the shower...Its really helped

Also have to have a shower straight after sex....thats another pain in the ass

    Ugh me too!

    TMI:

I get some weird version and tablets and creams just don't do the trick. My doctor gives me boric acid tablets to...Insert and that works a treat! After three years of solid painful itching, I'm totally de-swollen and happy as a pig in sh*t!

Oh wow. Seriously? Me and my mum get along like water and fire - not very well at all. I dont tell her ANYTHING. I think she thinks Im a lesbian because I never talk about guys I like.
I THINK my hymen broke early 2008, I started bleeding a bit. I thought it was my period, but it wasnt xD
If your hymen breaks before you first have sex, does it hurt to have sex on your first time?

Me and my mum have a great relationship. She's more like my sister than a mother (that being said, I know how you feel about your sister Mash! )

Why don't you and your mum get on?
