Thread: Healing Vibes Needed for Scarlet the Foal

Default Healing Vibes Needed for Scarlet the Foal

I would like you all to spare a thought and healing vibes for Scarlet the 8 week old foal who is fighting the biggest battle of her short life.
I said my goodbyes yesterday and talked to her Mum today BUT now we have more news - God Bless Vets - The vet who has visited Scarlet has now offered to admit her for 24 hour care to their Hospital and said it will be a Learning Experience for the Vets as her condition is still a Mystery, she was to be given her wings tomorrow - now we have a little more hope. I think emotions, heat and lack of sleep tend to make you more emotional so please excuse the tear stained typing.
Will keep you updated on her progress.....

I am hoping with everything I have that she does a 180 degree turn around and fights whatever it is with all her might. I will have everything crossed for her. Big hugs to you and I truly hope all turns out well.

Thanks for the quick support I am sitting here just thinking WHY poor little darling has been dealt a really tough set of cards.
Her symptoms are "started to stagger in back end Thursday - Vet called Friday morning as she was unable to Stand and has been down since then - Blood work showed a high white count so she has been given IV Fluids Anti-Biots and lots of love and care - being rolled over every hour - 2 hours and massaged, legs worked in a circular motion. everything has been ruled out except for abscess on the spine. Mum is being milked but it is drying up - Not having been near a horse in 35 or more years I can only say that she is one tough little filly. I only hope she will make it through the float ride to the Vet Hospital and she will be X-rayed and put in a sling. I have had a lot to do with dogs and cats with illness and this is tearing me apart as she has the biggest eyes and looks at me when I hold the water bucket she holds her head up to drink, and eats a full bucket of food too she is trying to get up but as each day passes she is getting a bit weaker but she sure has a personality. I am sure when she is in the Hospital in a sling it will tell us more and maybe get her through this horrible start to life or she will be the best little filly waiting at the Bridge.
Will keep you posted tomorrow on how she is getting on - I will be back with her at 6am. so I better try and get some sleep now after the last few sleepless nights with stress and this heat in Melb.

That must be so stressful(and expensive) to have to deal with. I really hope some good comes of it...
