With the Rav4, do you think it would fit everything?
I'm not sure, but you can move the back seat forward. Maybe the best way to find out would be to take on for a test drive and take it home and experiment

I recently bought a 2006 commodore wagon and even though I think wagons are boring, I have to admit I love it. Massive boot space, very comfortable to drive. Could easily fit a couple of larger crates in it, even without putting the back seats down. I was also looking at Subaru Foresters but the later models were out of my price range.

Mitsubishi Outlanders are great. All wheel drive, but control is just like a smaller car, and they are not overly big or top-heavy like many SUV's I've driven or owned.
