    Unhappy Something Very Sad Happened in My Town Today

    *Involves children*

    I do not personally know this child, but it's a small town and everyone knows everyones business.

    A young boy (six) was trapped underwater for a very long time at our local swimming pool. Whilst the father of said child (I will refrain from saying his name because I'm fairly confident this will become big news) was running around asking if anyone could find him, the life guards where socializing and not paying attention. When they found the boy, the paramedics worked on him for a very long time. My mother just informed me the boy is brain dead. His parent's will be taking him off life support soon.

    There will most likely be an investigation into the pool because this is not the first time something like this has happened.

    Please send up your prayers for this little angel's family.

    I'm not exactly sure of the intimate details. What I know is the little boy was somehow under the water for too long. Someone my mum works with was good friends with the boys parents. This kid went to the other primary school, not the one mum's at, so I didn't know him. It was in the local paper today. I think it's going to be a pretty big deal because the life guards weren't watching and like I said, this isn't the first time.

    I would also like to say anyone who has personal issues with me, please put that aside so we can all support this poor family. What a tragedy.

    The latest I've heard (just got a text from a mate) is that the pool was over crowded and they weren't regulating who was in the kiddie pool. I don't know if that's true, that's just the closest thing to an update I have.

    I want to post suggestions to fix/prevent it. Now is probably not the time. Condolences to the family and friends and the lifeguards.

    Believe me I want to prevent this too. Now I know why my mother never let us go there when we were kids.

    How very sad. Too many children drown in swimming pools.
    A pessimist sees the glass as half empty;
    An optimist sees the glass as half full;
    A realist just finishes the damn thing and refills it.

    Hyacinth just PM'ed me a news site. It's gotten on the net already. The article said the little boy passed away at three thirty this afternoon. RIP you were too beautiful for this world.
