If they worked, I'd have one to keep termites out of my place.
Actually I find it to work really well, I don't get flies or mozzies at all in the house itself and I have only seen spiders in the garage. I don't want to know if it doesn't work because if it doesn't it's a brilliant placebo!!! Since I plugged it in I have very rarely seen a creepy crawly and even the ones I have seen have been trying to get out.

Those things that you plug in with a pad of bug killer work but I'm pretty sure is not very healthy to be breathing bug killer all night. Then again - is easier than trying to sleep with a mozzie singing in your ear or if it bites your eye lid. So I live with that trade - no mozzies, and slightly unhealthy air.

if you like your repeller don't read these.

I guess there's more "uneducated and backward people" here than some originally thought...

I have to say, I'm with all these people about killing spiders. I have a terrible, terrible fear of them, and will scream like a girl (never mind I am one) even if I see the tiniest one. Mum's the same. We see a spider... well too bad for the spider. We whip out the Mortein with no second thoughts. We get way too many huntsmen, and they just freak me out. They're so big and black and hairy so though they're harmless... well I just don't want it in my room.
Dad keeps trying to convince us it's OK to relocate them, but no way. It'll get inside again.
Mal, I know you like spiders, but this is just my opinion.

I must confess that my post above is a little petty. I had second thoughts after I had logged off and had decided to remove it when I came back on as it was just being antagonistic. I guess it is too late now.

As I said though Mal, the feeling is mutual.

I hate hate hate spiders, but they don't deserve to die just for being what they are.
I always ask someone to jar the spider, then release.

In fact I killed a big fat black spider about 2 days ago and felt absolutely terrible. It was in one of my horse rugs. Poor thing, it was running away with fright and I just crunched it!

Scariest noise is when someone crushes a bug.
