I'm sorry Mal, but if a spider manages to get past the electronic bug deterrent, the copious amounts of Mortein Outdoor and Surface Spray around every door, window and gap into the house and decides to make my house it's home - It is asking to meet the sole of a shoe!

If hubby is home he relocates them. I'm absolutely terrified of them unless they are behind a piece of glass and are guaranteed to come nowhere near me! I've only had two get into the garage and hubby relocated them both after me spending two days unable to go into the garage. (Hubby was away for work) Both were huge huntsman spiders *shudder*

Whilst i keep hearing the word Mortein has anyone noticed thier latest add for the outside barrier protection/or whatever its called, has a woman walking around spraying poison with her mask hanging around her neck(reeks of common sense!).
Forget the poison as long as she looks good people will buy it.

White Tails will be exterminated here... Sorry Mal..

Fact is, if one bites my wife, She WILL be in hospital in intensive care within 30 minutes as she has a real bad allergy to them.

I dunno that white tails are all that keen to bite us. Most I've seen that see me coming clear off as fast as they can.

The trouble with them is they have dirty fangs and that can cause nasty infections, and there is a fairly high chance of accidentally coming into bite range, like if they crawl in your bed or on your couch and you don't see them first and they can't get away quick enough. So I kill them.

I just saw an ad on TV for a bug killer mister - are these things really safe? I remember staying in a pub with the pub manager going round with a pump action spray bottle of DDT I think. To kill the mozzies. Probably did kill the mozzies and take a few years off my life and the rest of my family.

    Typical advertising. Humph.
My son for some reason is abnormally terrified of spiders, so when he pisses me off I just yell 'hey -----, spider!" and he bolts and peace reigns again.

My son thinks he's Spiderman and wears the costume everyday but craps his pants when he see's them running on the floor

    electronic bug deterrent?

Are you serious? Are those the same ultra sonic devices that are supposed to repel mice? You've been HAD.

If they worked, I'd have one to keep termites out of my place.

I have load of those Black House Spiders around the outside of my place - and loads of webs too, I try to relocate them every now and then, I'd love to find some sort of natural repellant to get rid of them without killing them.

I get a few Hunstmen in the house occasionally, they fascinate me, and I have long deep and meaningful conversations with them. The tiger huntsmen are eye catching. I only relocate them if they start coming down to low and I think the dogs might be able to catch them and hurt them. A few years ago I was delighted when a huntsman in my kitchen allowed me to put a drop of water next to it, and it started drinking!
