Thanks Liza for starting this thread.

I've previously posted my gratitude to Morgan for starting & maintaining this forum on other threads & those thoughts & gratitude are reiterated here. It's been a safe haven for me in some recent challenging times. To all of you who have given me a much needed hug & a kiss when I've needed it ... once again, a very big "thank you".

The life blood of any forum is it's members though. Without you all, Morgan would be twiddling his thumbs & going "Anyone out there ..... anyone ??"

Like any community, we're a diverse bunch of people with (sometimes) strong opinions & a personal history that has made us who we are .... warts & all. And this is what we bring to the forum every time we .... post a comment, create a thread, get a laugh out of what someone else has posted, get a bit ticked off, want to share a win or a whinge ... the list is endless.

I once saw an interview with a cancer specialist who was able to put this whole complex tapestry of the "human existence" into a sharp, but simple focus for me. He said "When someone is in the process of dying & they are reaching the point of acceptance of the passing of their mortality ... no matter what their circumstance, rich or poor, famous or infamous, they only want to know the answer to 2 questions .... was I loved & did I love well ?? The rest is just mere detail." In listening to those words .... absorbing the meaning into my heart & brain, changed me & how I attempt to live my life.

I am sooo a "work in progress". I get tested on my attitude & behaviour toward my fellow human being constantly ... and often. I always come back to those 2 simple questions & the realisation that it's not what happens to you in situations that come along to test you in life, it's how you deal with them that shows what kind of person you are ... and the rest is all just detail.

Posted in memory of Zena ... one of the best teachers of life's lessons I have ever had.

I know I've said this before, but you have such a talent with words. You really should consider taking it up as a career/hobby.

Mate ... I'm too busy making treats to start a literary career.

I'll just say this though .. you've all given me the confidence to speak from the heart without worrying whether it will get ripped out when I post something.

I would hope not Dis. I'll always try to treat every forum member with the dignity & respect they so rightly deserve.

It's clear that I've missed topics & posts recently that have been very distressing to some much valued forum members that have made them "opt out" for the moment, or indeed leave permanently.

Such a pity. Some of these people have a wealth of knowledge that is a life saver at times.
