Default My "other" Shar Pei (of the Cat World)!

Meet Oops-a-Daisy......she is an 11 yr old Devon Rex who has always been bullet proof, until today when she proceeded to turn herself into a cow!

In October, 09 Oopa presented at the vet with a suspicious growth on her eyelid, but due to a very high heart rate and thyroid issues, surgery was just not an option and I have spent the last three months pandering to the "dying" cow and feeding her bbq chicken 10 out of 14 meals per week (much to the discust of OH)

Xmas eve Oops was once again at the vet having her monthly bloodwork done and amazingly her heartrate had reduced to an acceptable level to operate.

So for the last 2 weeks I have been working myself into a frenzy about this cat loosing her eye as the plan was to take the whole eye and stitch it over.

I didn't get much sleep last night due to Oopa's impending surgery and to a lessor degree (lol) the impending arrival of my new grandson born at 5.55am this morning.

By the time I arrived at the vet about 9am with Oopa, I was a basket case, even stating that due to a "life and death" superstition Oopa wouldn't be having surgery today. Thankfully the vet talked me into leaving her there.

And when he called me at about 2pm, was it really a surprise what he said????

Apparently he cut into the "melanoma" only to have it pop! It was a cyst #*&$^@^$&@ the COW has had me hysterical over a CYST for the last few months?!?!?!?! Honestly, that little cow is going to outlive me!!

Oopa has had her cyst removed and is currently enjoying being rehydrated yet again. No doubt she will return home tomorrow as if there has been no issue in the lasst few months and I have no doubt she will be in fine form given her hydration boost!

Little does she know she will be on a diet to loose .5kg as I figured if she was dying she may as well go happy........

I am now of the opinion that when the world ends, the only living things left will be cockroaches and Oops, so health spa and kitty gym, here we come!

She's beautiful SPRV. They are such a lovely cat! One of my clients has one (but a boy) and he is the smoochiest cat I think I have ever met, with the exception of my NDN's moggie.... But I think the moggie only wants food!

Sorry! Not ignorant at all, me abbreviating things I shouldn't

I mean next door neighbour. Their cat is here all day, sleeps in my garage at night (I put some blankets on a shelving unit for him after working out he wasn't going away) and he goes back home to eat and toilet then he's straight back here. It's cute, but kind of annoying when he forces his way in and eats the batty one's food etc.

That's so sweet How lovely of you to do that. You're a wonderful person. Plus, Batty is soooo cute. I love the name Batty! How'd you think it up?

Btw it's very said his owners don't love him enough-Or at all.
