I'm not considering a new dog just yet...Too soon since my beloved Terry passed. However I think because they are such a loving breed, nice and big, plus the stunning coat! I was talking to mum about it, and showing her your website yesterday. Mum took one look and told me when there used to be those toilet paper adds with the shar peis, I'd say "mummy mummy I want puppy!' I view that as a sign. I would love a pei who could get most of their exercise through tug of war, playing, kisses and pats, and would enjoy a gentle hour long walk four times a week. A lap dog so to speak, who would snuggle up and snore in my ear.

That's my 'dream' dog. Shar's seem like the perfect breed atm
Yep, I totally get your need to have the time to grieve, the pain is just hidious. However, if you want to, I could give you a foster dog to help you along if you think that would help. Not a forever dog but a dog who has been orphened and needs to feel some love and safety, perhaps that would be enough removed and at the same time give you something to concerntraite on without stepping on Terry's memory. Certainly no pressure but if you feel like you would like to have a go, just let me know, OK?

I lived through the 70's, so I WAS the quinisential hippie. Long blonde hair to my waist with no fringe, cheese cloth tops & tie dyed clothes, no bra & leather sandals. And I smoked Beadies for a legal head rush. I kept my hair that way until Zena died in 2007. I grieved so badly for her, my hair started to fall out in chunks. Nothing for it, but to cut it all off ... the last of my feminine vanity. Rob was furious with me as he had never known me without my "mane" & I had it cut off without telling him ... he lived. These days I'm your typical over 50 YO. Fat, frumpy & uninteresting to look at. But I have interesting stories to tell from a rather incredible & somewhat unbelievable life.

Anne is short and fiery. You have good sense of perception Cate.

LMAO ..... be very afraid indeed gentlemen. It's not the 1950's any more boys. The re-make of "The Stepford Wives" was on the other night. Crap re-make, but I liked the new ending.

I just about live in the kitchen, but only because of the biz. No apron here. I put the hair in a pony tail when it's getting a bit too long as I don't like it hanging around my face while I'm working. Hair colour .... very weird. I was a true blonde before I had it all cut off. Now I'm mousey brown. I do flit from stove, to fridge to microwave all day, but only because I'm making treats.

Did all that "Happy Homemaker" baking & cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing, garden, bill paying in my last relationship. Rob does the cooking because he likes food. He'd rather watch a cooking program than anything else on TV.

I don't usually try to guess what people look like or are like in reality as the few I have met over the years have been totally different to what I perceived. If I imagine them short and fat, they're usually tall and lean. If I imagine them as grumpy and wrinkled, they'll be happy and gorgeous.

Most people assume I have dark hair it seems. I am not sure why that is??

I think some are easier to picture (rightly or wrongly) as they give more detail about their lives than others.

I see most members as the breed they own.
Cate, thin and timid - like her Whippets.
Anne and Pugger both short and excitable - like the Pugs.
