I have a chronic arthritis type disease called ankylosing spondylitis. I used to suffer from really bad lower back aches, but my vertebrae fused so now it's not as much of an issue. I go through cycles of having pain in other parts of my spine though. Last year I had shocking pain in my neck. Couldn't sleep, had constant muscle spasms. I once took Panadeine Forte and valium together and it did not make any difference whatsoever. Until I stopped the anti-inflammatories I'd been on for 10 years (on specialist advice) and it finally got better! I also love a good osteopath. Have seen some with pinched nerves and they fixed me up in one session. But there are lots of bad ones out there, so you have to get one that comes recommended and they usually have a long wait list.

Funnily enough Panadine Forte are like lollies to me . They dont seem to do anything. Where as the Tramadol (150mg) twice a day does help alot. I guess everyone reacts diffrently.

Oxycontion was so full on i was on another planet. My mate rang me one day to see how i was going when i was at my worst. I blanked out on the phone for a bit and then appologised for forgetting why i rang him. "Whaddya mean. I rang you ya goose" he laughed back. I was so confused i didnt now what was going on. That's a wild drug that one. I didnt eat much at all and still put on over 15kg's. It messed me up in a big way and i was glad to finally get off the stuff.

p.forte don't even touch the sides, oxycontin is fun.

I take mersyndole night strength, doesn't kill pain, but knocks me out and I'll deal with it tomorrow...

I had "endones" for post my second knee op. I don't know who made the decisions about painkillers with my first op - a sadist I think. I didn't get enough.

Second op - much better post op care but the endones - I ended up returning most of them to the chemist - though someone naughty said I should go sell them at $50 each.

I really hated the way they messed with my head - funny when the knee pain was extreme - they made me functional enough I could walk to the toilet and back, but when the knee pain was only severe (can't think straight), the endones wiped me out completely. Took one so I could function and was stuck to the couch horizontal for the next 8 hours. Couldn't talk properly or stand up or nothing.

Look there's a whole forum dedicated to bad backs.
Bad Backs :: Endone, Panadeine Forte & Oxycontin

Glad no one gave me oxycontin. And anything with codiene (pandeine forte) makes me throw up.
