    hmm

Not that this is an excuse but in my experience - many times the skill of the doctor is in inverse proportion to his bedside manner comfort rating. Ie the ruder he is the better he is at fixing the problem.

I think they should tag team and have the guy who is crap at surgery but great at comforting the patient (and parents) and explaining things do front of house, and the guy that is great at stitching up holes etc be back of house and not to see patient until he's under general anaesthetic.

Just out of curiosity - how did hole in leg happen? I take it the BCs only ate the chunk after it had been removed (by mishap). Did the nurses understand this?

PMSL@Hyacinth. In hindsight, no - I didn't explain I meant AFTER the chunk came out! Lol.

He jumped through the air to catch a cricket ball, and came down with one leg catching on a cement wall about 4 foot high. The hole was deep, and inside the hole was all white. Underneath where all the stitches are there is a massive lump on his shin bone, so hopefully that will go down in time. We do NOT need another scheduled operation for this kid!!!

The hole was approx the size of a ten cent piece, as if someone had apple-cored him, poor boy.

Not on any antibiotics, Di. Nothing. It's still bleeding mildly through the gauze and bandaging two days later. Is that normal?

    Mitte - 65 stitches???????????????

I hope he's healing up nicely. If you're concerned, maybe take him to your gp for a checkup?

How is he doing? The little buggers seem to heal so well and so fast.

Hope your son is feeling better DA!

Hyacinth your comment is so true! I ripped open my shins when I was a kid and it needed to be stitched up. Well, on one leg the doc stitched in the fingertip of her glove.... No idea how that can actually happen without being noticed

Dr Arsewipe strikes again. This Dr is one who seems to travel all over the world just to cause people misery during trying times. I met Dr A when I was about 16 - he told me my cramps were period pain. I felt like smacking Dr A - not because it was that time of month but precisely because it wasn't. What I was having was abdominal migraines. We have all met Dr A once in our lives at least - and we will most likely meet him again. I hope I meet him on my death bed so I can take him with me - can't try a dead person!!
