OMG @ the presents you cannot be serious?? HAAHAH

I'd send them back next year.. all of it!!! See if she remembers LOL

I don't have IN laws, my other half stopped talking to them long before we got together, but one year for xmas they gave him a candy cane... so i dare say the presents would be about the same for us now..

The worst present i have ever recieved was actually one in pure kindness though, it was a handbag (but god damn it was ugly!!) but she had spent a lot of time and thought into it and even put some hankies in it for me... I used it about 5 times but then it magically was "stolen" when i was at the gymm

No one should EVER have to walk around with a bright green and blue handbag in fake crocodile leather...

Oh dear, I think I have been lucky when it comes to receiving presents, although I kind of get around it by telling people exactly what I want! It will range from really inexpensive gifts (like a decent tupperware cake container) to more pricey things (like a new digital camera). The worst I got was a couple of years ago from the b/f's sister who gave me a box with scented stuff (body lotion, bath salts etc) which I wouldn't have minded except it was all lavender - and I loathe the smell of lavender! She wasn't to know so I dutifully oohed and aahed - and gave it to someone else some months later!

I'm exactly the same.. I had a list ready to go when mum asked me..lol When shes buying for 5 kids and then partners it just easier..

My ex-boyfriend has never once got me a bad gift, he just never bothered to get one at all.. ever.. or the kids, I picked, paid and done everything and he shared the credit for it.
His mum is the total opposite. Every month or so a huge package comes in the mail full of brand new clothes, toys, swimmers etc for the kids, She spoils them rotten.

That reminds me of a few gifts I have received over time. Once, a few years back, the cleaner at work gave me a *lovely* mantlepiece clock..... with flowers and butterflies and things inside it. It was awful!

I smiled and hugged her and told her how gorgeous it was and took it home with me. My husband also almost keeled over with laughter when he saw it.

I actually kept it for a couple of years, in the box, before putting it out on my front fence once day to see if anyone would like it. The next day when I looked it was gone, so hopefully someone decided they liked it and would treasure it!
