I never had any with the first marriage as they had already passed, but my in-laws this time around were wonderfully lovely people. Sadly, FIL passed only a few years back.

You know, I hope that I am the sort of in law for my children's partners (when the time comes) that I would like to have. Some of the horror stories you hear !!

Ok, start me, I am in a mood, lol.
Before hubby and I were married, his father gave my kids pressys and attention. The moment we married all that stopped. I was a gold digger.
Fast forward 18 years, his wife who married him 2 weeks after I married his son is now taking him for everything he has. He has avoided me and any female or wives of mates as his wife was so insecure and so nuts. We were all having affairs with him apparently. I am starting to have a father in law finally. The man is a tower of strength. Revenge through time and actions is so sweet.

I've heard the gold digger thing from my deceased FIL, too. It is sad, as I'm the only one still married to one of his sons, and always will be. I think if he's looking down in any wway possible, he'd admit he was wrong. I like to think so anyway.

I remember Di you saying that when he gave you Pretty Girl you gave him a kiss on the cheek and it was the first time. I did wonder, and now I know.
Why do so many women try to take everything from a man? It is sad and disgraceful.

I agree with your comment re yourself, Anne. I have promised myself that no matter what I think of their choice of wife in the future, I must support them and love their wives like my own children.

As they say, you don't lose a son, you gain a daughter.
