Glad I'm not the only one with a dumb MIL.

Mine shops at OP shops for Christmas presents for her own Grandchildren and buys her friends brand new stuff.

Pisses me off to no end.
I can relate to that Pugger. Would/does piss me off something chronic. I feel sorry for them though, because they don't stop to realise that children are vERY observant and intelligent. They remember and question why, too.

Send your MIL a bond's men's singlet from Vinnies! PMSL.

Ah, but how do you KNOW they will hide it. They'll probably love the blasted thing! Just your luck! Lol.

Pugger - you could them an ipod to share. They'd be bound not to use that especially if you put metallica or something else "interesting" on it! LOL!

Sorry I did not explain properly - go to cheapo shop and get one I think they are like $40 and leave the receipt in the bag and then comment that you won't have to buy for the next however amount of years that tally up to the cost of hers.

    OMG DA. That's awful.

I am so lucky. My MIL is wonderful, and although she isn't rich, she always buys me lovely thoughtful gifts.

Sadly, my parents have passed and so has my FIL but when they were alive, their gifts were equally as thoughtful and nice.

You are very lucky. My first MIL was really nice, it's just a shame about her son.
