Default Question for Morgan Re RULES OF FORUM

Morgan, where can posters go to view the forum rules?

I know someone (Hyacinth maybe?) posted them ages ago in a thread for another member, but can't remember where.

I have a vague recollection of browsing through them quickly back then and personally deciding that a large percentage of posters were guilty of breaching the rules on a daily basis.

To have them posted up on the main thread board would be a great help for all, I think.

I need to read them, as I am feeling confused as to what is allowed and what isn't. For one example, it has been made very clear that offensive language will hereforth not be tolerated, yet there are still words which I would classify as offensive that seem to be quite okay for posters to use.

    Clarification would be appreciated, please.

    Thank you.

I agree, people have different thoughts regarding what's offensive and what's not.

Are you able to post the rules at the top of ever topic heading(eg. Off Topic, General Dog, Health etc) hope that makes sense?!

Hmmm can I add my questions DA? Do you mind?

Just wondering why you added the ******'s (I didn't swear just added in the stars lol) if you were going to ban people for swearing anyway. Or is it only if swearing incorporated with 'nasty posts'. Or is it only if people use spaces etc to get a r o u n d it?

This must be so hard for you Morgan

No probs at all with that, Judge.

Anybody with any forum rules questions is more than welcome to ask them here IMO.

I went searching for them sometime back and then noticed that they were pinned in 'Dogforum News'.

    Thanks Anne, just found it.

It also states one cannot post an advertisment or link etc, or any other affiliate, yet I am seeing these all the time. Actually one has just been posted now about another directory somewhere. I personally think that post is fine and can't see any problem with it whatsoever, but doesn't that come under banned topics etc...???

Am I reading that rule incorrectly, or what?

Maybe the rules just need some tweaking as the forum grows.

I think that is a good idea.

I have brought this up before...what is one person's offensive is not another person's offensive!

If swearing is an offensive act here in this Forum...then I want deliberate belittling...condescending comments banned too because I find them offensive on so many levels!

Not quite sure what you mean by "deliberate belittling...condescending comments". Can you elaborate.

We all express ourselves in different ways and some people's writing style takes a bit of getting use to.

The big problem with the written word is not being able to read body language. I guess this is why they invented Smilies but they are a poor substitute.

Sure I can...when you post in a manner that is condescending
