I think we should remember that a 15yo is not responsible for what her mother does.

Where is anyone holding her responsible?
    Education not Legislation

My thoughts are that by her being here she can be educated so she will not go on to repeat it when she is an adult.

Yes, that's a good point. Maybe our education of her here will also rub off on her Mum a tad, do you think? Well, I can only hope.

I'm assuming the comment re picking up the cat and throwing it on the lounge was just a figure of speech...and not meant literally, which would rile me to no end.

I understand she is only 15!!! What I find a bit disturbing is that no-one actually mentioned the cat throwing thing until AF said something. I only commented because I had ignore going and saw AF's comment.

I can only imagine what would have been said...if she had said...I think it is fun that you can pick up a Staffy (since she has staffies) and throw it on the lounge and it just falls back to sleep!

So her Mum breeds cats and dogs unregistered...hell ya, I have a problem with that in so many levels! Is it Kassie's fault...nope! The comment about the cat throwing is however her words!

Sure...education is great. But how can she be educated when not ONE person until AF actually said...hang on a minute...that is not the way to treat cats. Not one person questioned her about her comment!

I am a very tolerant person regarding people with a disability. I have a sister with severe Cerebral Palsy, so yeah, I know what it is all about living with a disability. That doesn't mean I have to just sit and take whatever comment that is thrown at me. If it was "a figure of speech", then so be it...if it wasn't then...hmmmmmmmm

I understand what you're saying Dorte. VERY much.

What bothers me also is that kassie asked her mum to explain it to her (am I right) and her mum just told her to let them be. Which is why I didn't offer any explanation of what or how the cat's were mating etc. I just feel that she is a child, and if her mum wasn't willing to talk to her about it, then I'm sure as hell not going to. Just doesn't seem right, somehow ITKWIM?

Jeez, I need to learn to read the whole thread. I've missed a page or 2!

Kassie, your comment does state the word 'literally.' Do you mean that actually happens at your home, or not?
