Thread: The Muesli Bar- a True Story.

Default The Muesli Bar- a True Story.

Until a few years ago, I was an infants teacher. On lunch duty one day, I noticed a new year one boy struggling to open a muesli bar. He finally asked the boy beside him if he could help him. The boy started laughing, and said he couldn't believe that he couldn't do such a simple thing, that it was obvious . He was teasing the new kid and making fun of him. I was about to intervene when another child came over to him. She said "this is how you do it" and showed him how to rip it down from the serrated edge. None of us are born knowing how to open a muesli bar. It's frustrating until taught, but once you know then it's easy and straightforward. We can't remember NOT knowing how to do it! In relation to this forum- many people come in here with questions that seem totally obvious. I would always hope that I would be taught as one child did, not be laughed at for my lack of knowledge. Just a thought....

    i was once told

"those who ask may seem stupid for a day, those who dont are stupid for life"

Or something along those lines... I think its really true. I mean, can you imagine if that kid never asked how to open his muslie bar! But seriously very good post/point

As in your previous post, Mal. Your mood would come across as offensive. A lot of others posts from people do anyway. That's what I meant. Lol.
