First day of Chemo is it Di??
Tell me something, with this "pic line" you are talking about, I have heard of it, but dont know anything about it. Can the Chemo be given through it? A "port" was discussed for Russell, but because of the massive tumors pushing out his sternum, they felt there would be too much damage there to insert a port. Its an ongoing battle to even find a vein to do a blood test let alone anything else going in or coming out so to speak. We may be going up to Wadonga soon, a "pallative zap" of the tumor has been suggested.
Anyway, good luck for tomorrow Di -- keep smiling & cracking jokes, will be thinking of you.

Thank you for remembering, Pug. Hugs.

I think the line is great, Pei. With a port (not used much in Aus, they have to puncture it each time, errrk. My doc who did the line told me that s0me have had PICC's in, with proper care for years. I should not have to be stuck with a needle through all of this, not that it worries me having bloods etc like that but with the line bloods can be drawn and any meds given. It was done in the xray dept of the hospital and medicare was billed for it.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.

I'll be thinking about you tomorrow Di - don't give the nurses too hard a time! Although something tells me you'll have them laughing more than anything.
