Yes I do agree it is pathetic.

I came back from overseas wondering what on earth had happened and now I seem to be caught up in the middle of it. I can't see my posting style has changed any but perhaps others are more sensitive at the moment due to the past events?

However, I find it difficult not to respond to an attack so I guess it might continue. At least I can understand that my debate yesterday was a two way street, and I respect DevilsAdvocate for not then trying the one-up-manship in other threads, as I would not do to her/him either.

This one with Cleasanta is actually just her doing what she claims others do and that she doesn't do. Maybe the hypocrisy comments of yesterday are better directed at her? I don't appreciate being told I think I am "Mother Superior", "lack empathy and that my posts reek of 'self-perceived superioity'."

These comments are a direct and personal attack. Cleasanta has ceased to debate the subject, and instead has chosen to attack the debater. To make it worse, her accusations are clearly wrong.

Then the logical thing would be to stop reading the threads where there is bitching, whining and debates.

Yes your right it would be the logical thing to do, however every thread on this forum has some form of bitching, whining and debates!!

    Yes I agree they do.

Perhaps it is a settling in phase of the forum? A jostling for leadership of the pack? A learning of who is who at the zoo? Maybe this the adolescent stage of the forum where boundaries are being tested?

    For your benefit I have posted the EXACT posts here;
    Anne:
kassie, can I give you some advice. When you type a message, read back over it. That way, you may notice a few typos and errors and be able to fix them.

Most of your errors seem to be based on a lack of re-checking what you write.

Your posts are very difficult to read because of the errors.

    Cleasanta;
Kassie has a form of autism and ADHD and she can't spell very well...she is only 15.

    Anne:
Yes, I know. Kassie can spell and type much better than what she is doing today which is shown by previous posts. High expectations is a good thing.

Even people who are classified as IO can re-read what they have written to pick up on errors. Checking your typing before hitting 'post' or 'enter' can only be a good thing, particularly given her apparent problems. No-one expects Rhodes scholars here but always striving for the best is preferable.

    Anne:
I guess you could call it 'motherly advice'.

    Devils Advocate:
    No, just good, helpful advice.

I don't communicate with Kassie much because of the hassle of trying to ascertain what she is writing. If she could proof read her sentences before posting, then yes, it would be a lot better for all of us, Kassie particularly.

Give it a go Kassie, and you'll probably find people chat with you here far more then.

It was kelpiemum a few posts further along who then stated that ADHD should never be used as an excuse.

Your post is personally attacking me Cleasanta and I don't take kindly to it.

SO GET DOWN OF YOUR GOD DAMN MIGHTY HIGH HORSE!!!!

Are you hearing yourself? At what point did you think that I could care less about what you think...you don't seem to care less about how you make people feel with your posts! Other people on this forum might bow to Queen Anne when she enters...but it is not me! You think I am personally attacking you...then go back an re-read some of your posts and you will know what "attacking" is! Re-read the one to DA and tell me if that wasn't written in a condescending and pompous way and IMO as a personal attack to either belittle or ridicule her. I can't personally attack you, because I don't know you...and trust me, you would have known if I personally attacked you! I can however comment on the way you address people...on the way your posts read...on how I find them offensive and rude and on how your comments come across to me. I can comment on how your posts make ME feel and how they read to ME.

I know EXACTLY what was said to kassie! It is a combination of the wording and your tone that absolutely ticks me off! What you call "motherly" advice...I call condescending comments and I find them offensive! Who gives you the right to say what she should or shouldn't strive for...eg your "high expectations"...lack of spell checking etc. With a disability like she has...she probably has enough problems in her life without having to worry about your expectations of her. IMO...sure, you might not have said it in words eg "ADHD is no excuse" and that was kelpiemum (I knew it was her saying it and her comment was a reaction to what was said to kassie at that particular time)...but your post sure as hell beamed of that! You might think your comments are "constructive"...I think they are unnecessary and rude. Before you went on "opening an old wound" for Kassie...I told you she had problems. You still went on about "striving for the best...high expactations are good". THAT is what I meant about irrelevant! You still went on about it...dismissing what I had said in a bid to stop another attack on kassie and your post resulting in a post like the one from kelpiemum! With every action there is a reaction. It was the reactions to your post I feared and THAT is why I told you about kassie (just in case you didn't know since you hadn't been here)! Sure...kassie's posts can be difficult to read sometimes, but I think we are all kind of used to them now.

I really don't care what you think of me Anne. I find this interesting...you reacted quite strongly to my post...how do you think other people feel when they read your posts? When they are on the receiving end of your "constructive" critisism?

Me...on a high horse...please, get a grip of yourself! I don't find it necessary to "be better" than other...never have...never will! I am quite comfortable with who I am!

At what point did I say...I don't like you Anne...I think you are a horrible person Anne? How can I possibly say that when I don't know you?!? Now THAT is a person attack! I said...I find your comments rude and the way you address people offensive. I said...your posts reek of self-perceived superiority, but if you can explain to me why that isn't so and why we mere mortals shouldn't see it that way...then I will take it back at that point.

    Interesting spray of dribble.

I removed the high horse commment from my post some time ago but you have obviously had the 'reply to' screen open beofre this. I found it wasn't neccessary to use and it was almost an attack. Double standards are not my forte'.

Interesting that you also are not able to acknowledge you are wrong and behaved poorly (and still are) and have personally attacked me and accused me of something I did not do, even though the evidence is staring you in the face.

Your contradict yourself almost repeatedly. You don't care what I say and yet you seem to think my posts worthy of commenting on, analysing and attacking.

You call me such things as 'Queen Anne' and tell me my posts are pompus and reek of 'self-superiority' but state you are not personally attacking.

Perhaps you need a break away from the computer for a while. I find your posts are becoming irrational in this thread.

In future, I ask that you refrain from attacking me. If you don't like my posts then please put me on ignore. It really is very simple.

Yep...ignore it is, because it is CLEAR that you can not post anything without being offensive IMO and you are simply not worthy of my time!
