I can't think of any other ideas, I'm willing to listen to any other suggestions.
I can swear with the best of them too but it's hard enough typing what I want to say without adding all those extra words, too much effort.

If you were a parent, would you consider a dog forum to be a risky place for your child to visit? I wouldn't.

I simply do not see the need for vulagarity in public. Maybe I am getting old but I think it shows a certain lack of control and a lack of real knowledge on how to communicate.

I don't think the conern is that it might 'hurt' people's feelings Cleasanta, like a nsaty or hurtful remark. It is offensive. It is the same as being racist or ****phobic or even denigrating disbled people.

Vulgar language is offensive to many and there is no way of knowing what minors are reading the board.

I am a parent. My kids would not have been interested in a dog forum but it IS an adult one so yep, when young, I would screen.

I don't think I have used any F word though. FFS though, yes. You think they never hear it at school? Just my opinion.

My "kids" are now 25 and 29. The pc was in a heavy trafic flow area so tabs could be had with what they were viewing. Cords taken away if they were somewhere they should not be. I am sure there are many kids doggy forums out there.

Actually, the language at high schools these days is so atrocious it makes most adults who swear look piddly. Between the state school kids and the private school kids, I'm not sure who's worse from my experience and observation.

Not that that has a thing to do with this original thread.

The OP can ask that people refrain from using swear words as she doesn't appreciate it. It is up to each person here whether they choose to oblige or not. Personally, I wish people would refrain from using abusive language too.

Explanation: IMO abusive language and swearing are meant as two separate entities in my sentence above.

I don't use it (at least I don't think I do) but this has come up before on other forums. Some do use the bleep out, and that if fine with me too, I bet any kid can fill in the gaps though.

On the other pets board on another forum I am on, talking about Pretty, the word bitch bleeped out made me smile though. I now say female dog.

Not from me, it isn't. I appreciate exactly where she is coming from but just citing my opinion. If the forum bleeped out words it would discourage use....a good thing.

Kids these days know the words though.

Bitch blanked out in context with this forum would be a shame but probably would have to be if forum moderation on swear words was to happen.

I swear (as you know) but I use my swear words sparingly and not for every 2nd post.
The vibe of the forum can be really aggressive at times :/

I think we just need to be conscious of the fact that too much can make the forum trashy and we don't want to be perceived as trashy bogans.
