    Default The Thread for Hypocrits

    Ok, I'm racked off, I admit it.

    What is wrong with people and their understanding of the english language?

    Someone says something here on this forum, and another jumps in and states that 'they said this, they said that' when they didn't say that at all, in no way, form or wording. I'm reading it everywhere. Dumbfounds me actually...

    Could we not be a little (or a lot) more careful about how we word comments, how we take/perceive comments, and above all - STOP ASSUMING!!!

    An acquantence of mine whom I highly respect taught me a very valuable lesson once:

    The word assume can be broken into 3 parts; ASS U ME.

    Twisting words. Yep, see that a bit too, Cleasanta. You're very right.

    Laughing at Choppa. Wondering why Choppa is backing out of room without making eye contact? Don't think I've ever seen Choppa guilty of this.

    Assumption it may be, but feel it is plain to see that my post in Occy's cat thread has set you off on the path of creating this thread about assumptions and hypocrisy.

    I understand the written word possibly better than most, and I also have the clear ability to use the english language in written form exceedingly well. I have no problem at all understanding the english language in any way, shape or form.

    I take exception to this thread and the reason for it being started. If you don't agree with my comments in the other thread, so be it. You stated you didn't and that was where it should have ended or continued. There was no need to create a separate dramatic thread in response.

    A pessimist sees the glass as half empty;
    An optimist sees the glass as half full;
    A realist just finishes the damn thing and refills it.

    As an added thought, by the title of the thread, I am will also assume that you are calling me a hypocrit, to which I also take exception.

    You advised that "Could we not be a little (or a lot) more careful about how we word comments, how we take/perceive comments, and above all - STOP ASSUMING!!!"

    Perhaps you should heed your own advice?
