I feel ashamed for being an angry vindictive person. I hate myself because I can be mean
You are only human, my friend. No one is perfect, although some of us come close.

We can all be unpleasant at times. Words can't be unsaid, no matter how sorry we are afterwards, but we can always try to make amends.

What upsets me most is the pack mentality. One or two people attack another and then a group dives in for the kill. I've got a highly developed sense of fair play and I always want to jump in and support the underdog. I used to do it a lot. I try not to now. Sometimes it just makes things uglier.

The suggestion for having a games section on this site is a very good one IMO. It works well on other forums. If you are angry you go and play a game before you make a post. It really helps.

I don't know what is happening to this forum. I thought it was a great place when I first found it but I'm not so sure now. There is something missing and I can't quite put my finger on what it is. Certainly I don't feel a part of this forum. I'm more like a fly on the wall than a real member if you understand what I mean.

I used to be on a great forum with Occy, Dogsrule, Peilovr, Anne and probably others here using different names. There were the usual disagreements but things mostly ran well until the end. I don't really know why it folded. I was in hospital for 9 weeks and when I came home the forum had died.

This could be a wonderful forum. I hope things start to improve soon.

Cleasanta, I was feeling really depressed last night when I posted. I don't think I needed to have you rub it in further and tell me how terrible I am.. I am already aware that I was mean to Occy, hense the apology.
Hey...hang on a minute...I wasn't rubbing anything in here! All I said was...we have a choice...me ...you...everybody! And I said...if you know it is a trait you don't appreciate within yourself and is making you feel sad...maybe you can work on it! I KNOW my temper can sometimes get the better of me...as I have shown. I NEVER said it was just about Occy...I mentioned that conversation to show how things can get out of hand and how ugly gang mentality can be!

I am PRETTY sure my post was NOT nasty! What did you want to achieve from starting this thread in a public forum, if we are not allowed to reply to it and give advice?

With the gang mentality...you mean the KRISTOFFA thread? I wasn't "ganging up" on anybody. I told it the way I saw it...they were BYB...they were extremely irresponsible dog owners etc! Emphasism on WERE here since they have decided to get bitch desexed!

The written word is such a difficult thing. Pugger, we call the 'revenge feeling' a kick the cat attitude. Someone hurts you so you need to hurt someone back.

I must admit to suffering from this too although I control it mostly. The worst of it comes out in me when I fight with someone (such as the odd fight I have with my husband) and I lash out at him and say the most horrible things. Luckily, we rarely fight and because I am aware of what I do, I can control it to some extent...but it is hard. I do it usually without thinking first.

    Hi Puggerup

I like to listen to split enz on my down days and wallow. Every feeling has its time and place. virtual for you.

And I repost something I got in the email (one of those chain things), It comes with a cute picture of a sleeping golden retriever. And I've got no idea about the original ownership so it's sure to breach copyright.
An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard.
I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.

He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.

An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.

The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour.

This continued off and on for several weeks.

Curious I pinned a note to his collar: 'I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.'

The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar:
'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 - he's trying to catch up on his sleep.

Can I come with him tomorrow?'

Pugger, I'm sorry you feel that way ATM. Remember, everything passes.

As to the gang mentality thing (not sure who mentioned it, doesn't matter either) that's an interesting one.

If 1 person states their opinion and others agree, what then?
If 1 person is not nice, or angry, and others feel like that also, what then?
If 1 person says osmething lovely, helpful and kind, and others agree, what then?

Why is it if people agree about ANYTHING, the good, the bad, the ugly - it's called "pack mentality'? Is anyone saying we are a bunch of dogs? LOL.
