Some weather comes from the North, especially when there are left over bits of cyclones. But the northern weather and to some extent the Indian ocean currents are all mucked up by all the burning forests that are happening in Indonesia. It's formed some sort of temperature block and hot spot up there which stops the normal currents and monsoons. A weather scientist showed me a whole lot of thermal images - and it is quite frightening. The ones he showed me of the carribean were even scarier. And that was just before Hurricane Katrina and all that happenned.

The only time Adelaide gets weather from the East is when there is a big cyclone come inland from around Brisbane, Coffs Harbor area. We get easterly gully breezes but that's local.

    Simple loops

LOL, that's so funny, i've lived in NSW all my life & yet to hear of cyclones coming from Coffs... most cyclones are up north further QLD or NT, but in saying that, Coffs does get heavy rains coming in from the northern cyclones.
