I was standing in the ring doing the stays on Sunday at dog school & got bitten by what I thought was a bee on my palm. It was bloody painful & was like a red hot needle being shoved into my palm. I left the ring with Spirit as quickly as I could, needing to deal with the intense pain & didn't think I'd make it to the club house without screaming & scratching the "eff" out of my palm, so I plunged my hand into the nearest drinking water bucket for the dogs. Stuff the germs, I needed relief NOW !!!

Since Sunday, I've noticed these same little bastards have been flying in through my kitchen window, so I've smashed the sh!t out of them with my trusty fly swatter so my girls don't want to have a playful "snap" like they do with flys.

I only got stung by one of these beasties. How the people who got stung by 30 or more weren't screaming in pain is beyond comprehention. Poor bastards. I really feel for them. No wonder people got dragged off to hospital.

Hippo .... if they've come down from Yarra Valley & they're at my place, you might have these nasty "visitors" as well. Keep an eye on Ziggy please. Not sure if they're attracted to dogs & what would happen if they got stung, but from this human's experience ... OUCH.
I'm right next to Yarra valley and last weekend there were wasps all over the backyard.
We have a trap set now and there's already 12 of the buggers floating in it.
