I tried to figure out our senate card with 74 names on it.

And of course I can't stick a 1 in my favourite because their preferences are not my preferences - so I have to fill out 74 names. And they'd kind of ribboned the groups on the page so that what would have been 1.5m of voting paper in Canberra was a square grid of contenders, and for some reason I found that harder to keep track of.

So my page ended up covered in black smudges where my pencil eraser efficiently smeared the wrong number into one unreadable blurr, but didn't actually remove it so I could write the number I wanted. Apparently what you do then is put a nice X through the smudge and write the number you do want next to it.

I voted completely differently on the senate to how I voted in the house of reps... And it looks like we have a slightly anxious also Wran in charge this year and I don't think a fear campaign will keep him in place next time, especially if he continues with same old same old.

Tonight is the switchover night from Day shift to Night Shift.... Means up till around 1 am, sleep till around 9 am for hubby and 6am for me, breakky straight away and start the housework, then hubby has breakky at 9ish while I have a snack, lunch around 1pm and dinner for me around 6-7pm while hubby is at work. Bed around 1-2am. Grrr, I'm normally so crabby at the start, then as it's 2 weeks days 2 week nights so just as I'm getting used to the sleep deprivation routine for nights we're back to days again and the cycle starts again....

I need someone/something to keep me awake! I've been operating on 2 hours sleep today. No time for a nap (not that Batty and Rosie would let me anyway) due to visitors and household requirements. Plus side is dinners for the week are done! My slow cooked beef casserole with mashed potato. All portioned out and frozen for hubby to take to work

Yup, that's the one! He'd better be, if not it's off to the mess for him and a sure case of food poisoning

He's only ever refused my cooking once... He had to be hospitalised the next day from the food he got at the mess... Funny how it hasn't happened since!
