No rest for the wicked. You should know that Greys. Just waiting for that first lot of Nurofen Plus to kick in before I start weilding the knife for the day. Mish has just gone to the park for her daily trot around while the other 2 go mad. I hate missing their walk, but I just can't risk it for the next little while. Spirit & Tara run so fast & get pretty close on their run through, it would only take one miss timed pass, they'd bowl me over & the damn thing will snap. If Mish doesn't devour her breakkie later this morning, it might be time to have a word with the vet. She didn't eat dinner last night & that spew was all her breakfast & lunch time chicken carcass. She's got nothing in her stomach & Mish normally gives me that "I'm starving" look 5 minutes after she's eaten.

I'll be looking forward to around 3 then. Hopefully you'll have something you can pin point & start to deal with.

Mish update ..... she's eaten breakkie. Not voraciously like I expected her to, but her bowl is empty. And then she went around the side of the house & had a normal poo. She's now lying on a dog bed with that "I'm still hungry" look, so it looks like it was just something weird yesterday & nothing to worry about after all. She'll go off to massage soon, so I'll get the lady to check out her tummy just to be on the safe side.

Lectade is just an electralite powder or liquid that you make up, its a balance rehydration drink.

A bit like lucozade is for people.

Thanks Beau. I had an inkling that is was something like that but I wasn't quite sure.

OT, I have narrowed it down to three breeds- Boxers, Weimaraners and Dalmatians. I didn't feel like it needed it's own thread, so which would people choose, based on looks, temperament, trainability, energy levels, etc?

You bet Di !! I know what's wrong with me & how to fix it, but my "kids" can't talk, so it's very worrying when they're not well. Especially my Mishy. She's such a strong girl & in over 12 years, that dog has NEVER missed a meal.

Oh I missed this yesterday GSD. So glad Mish has eaten some breakfast, that's a very good sign. Praying for a speedy recovery for both of you. I know what you mean about worrying when they refuse food. When I had my labrador, Holly, I remember someone saying to me it was considered an 'emergency' if a labrador refused food (I think they were joking )

Good luck Greys for the results. Sounds like you are on the road to recovery anyway

That's OK. I know Mish has to go at some stage. I've had 2 years longer with her than what they diagnosed, so each day she's still here is a blessing.

The results are IN! It's Ross River Virus! Yippee! I'm so happy, because I know that eventually I will get over it, and then I'll be immune to it. There's no cure as such, just anti-imflammatories and waiting for it to be over....could be weeks, hopefully won't be months.

All other levels are normal, including cholestorol, iron, and RA. So apart from the RRV I'm a healthy little chook. (Well, apart from those extra kilos lol)

Boh, thank you for alerting me to the health warning , otherwise I'd never have even thought about RRV, let alone ask the doc to test for it. I think he was himself surprised about it.

Ah well, all I can do now is wait until the symptoms subside. Best possible outcome as far as I'm concerned!

A big thank you to everyone for your concern, it's made me feel a lot less depressed when I've been at my lowest the last couple of weeks. Say what, you're a jolly good bunch!
