Thanks. I'll make a note & check them out next time I go to Chemist Warehouse. I'm not sleeping too badly at the moment, but sometimes the lavender drops on the pillow, roll on for my temples & valerian I take an hour before bed time just aren't enough. I'd rather go as natural as I can.

I hate my SD14 school, I hate them with a passion. If she was my daughter she would of been removed from that school.

SD14 suffers from depression and has swings of high and lows and is always seeking approval of her peers and others, is confused about her sexuality etc etc

Anyway she has registered and has begun raising money for the shave for cancer.

The school keeps dragging her into their counsellors office and talking to her about whether she is doing this for all the right reasons etc.

I also feel she is doing this for the wrong reasons but the more they "feed" her the desired attention the worse she is getting. If they had of left this alone I believe she would of pulled out of it, but no they made a big deal of it and now she's committed.

They've also complained about her being taken out of school one afternoon a fortnight about an hour early to attention professional counseling as recommended by our doctor. This is a child that never has a day off school even if she's terribly sick because she can't bear to be away from her friends.

I just want to throw something I'm so frustrated. Top that off with I can't get the mower to start and my washing machine is waiting on parts and I'm ready to explode.

Anyway....I've had my nice little rant and I'm going to now go sit in the puppy pen and chill out.

Aw MAC, hope the puppies make you feel better.

School councellors can be funny. My son had a weird experience with one last year and very quickly spelt it out to them. Fastest councelling session that school has ever had! Lol.

I think they can be useful, but sometimes it appears they esculate the problem. So many ruddy experts, hey?

They always make her problems worse. This is a child that cuts herself and has threatened to jump in front of a train and HAS stood on the edge of the platform and hovered.

I wish they would leave her problems to the expert our doctor found.

They are also terrible at advising us if there is anything we should know about.

I'm also not impressed with half of SD's friends, they stir her up.

Puppies, looove puppies, typing with puppies isn't easy though!

Lol. Crawling all over you are they? Fuzzy feeling.

Bad communication between schools and patents/guardians is a pet hate of mine. So many problems/issues could be avoided or better dealt with when there is excellent commuincation. I can only imagine how stressful this is for you.

When my brother was younger, the school were going to report my mum to child services cos my brother missed two weeks of school. Mum rang them the third day and said that my brother was having seizures again and he was getting tests done... They wouldnt accept that.. They knew my brother had epilesy..

My goodness, how things have changed. The old man beat me up in one of his rages & I couldn't play sport for 3 weeks. The bruises on my arms & legs were very obvious, but no-one said a word at school.

Any idea why I keep getting asked to register ever time someone posts on a thread I have a watch on ?? Is it all part of the new mods we now have ??

Sorry to hear about your childhood

Yeah they were pretty bad.. but it was alright for a child to go at the teacher with a star picket..

It was the 60's. Pretty standard behaviour for that era I assume.

    What's a star picket ??
