You're a real trooper Di. In a lot of ways, you've been a real inspiration to me about being ballsy & maintaining a great sense of humour in the face of challenging times.

Off to get Inca her last vaccination. It was delayed for 2 weeks until she was totally over the gastroenteritis and her immune system was in sync.

She's just had her daily grroom. God, she is getting better and better at standing for me all the time. At least I'm not bending so much now to groom her! Lol.

Birds are out, they have not been out a lot lately. My body fluids are toxic for a week after chemo and they like to pick scabs so I am suited up. lol They have a 2ft x 4ft high cage, lots of toys so they are not too disadvantaged. I have 2 cockatiels and my son's one has been here since July.

Scabs are from puppy scratches, they have not yet quite mastered the down command.
New lounge has been christened by bird poo and pups were on it yesterday.
Even though the new one is a wonderful comfy one but not hugely expensive at all, so it suits our human/pet/farmer grotty hubby lifestyle.

Ah, I see. I thought they might be from the chemo.

Nothing yet, as she can't jump or anything, so I'd have to lift her up. Yeah, right. Just getting her into the back of the car gives me a hernia.
Then I realised that when she is fully grown, I'm simply gonna want her to stand for me, at the same level I am!

So have been teaching her to stand 'stand' in position for grooming. Doing small, VERY short lessons so she doesn't seem to be finding it a problem. At this stage it's working as she gets excited when seeing the brushes come out, doesn't shy away thinking oh no, not this again! Lol.

Hopefully by the time she is twelve months she will be content to stand for a full groom.

That sounds great ... especially as Inca gets excited when she sees the brushes come out. It's like a "massage" for them. I must do it right, because Mish jumps off a bed, trots outside & springs onto the picnic bench when I've got the stripper in my hand. (Won't budge if OH waves it front of her) Tara has "dandruff", so getting a groom every day is like having her scalp scratched. Anything invoving the picnic bench means "treats" to Spirit, so she's always "first cab off the rank" for rushing to get on the bench. If Tara isn't quick enough getting on for her groom, Spirit thinks "Bewdy. Empty bench. Must be my turn again." It's all about "Me, me, me" with Spirit. Typical Arian.
