Um - what about "go out" so you can make friends. Ie the other way about. I've made some interesting new friends since I got Frosty. Is there a DdB club in Melbourne? You could go for the social side not the competition side. And they're bound to be more sociable if they know you're not competing.

Yeh same here, my best mates are all from school, now they are on the other side of the world
I was temping when I first got here & no one went out for drinks after work. Now I am working full time since Sept & it is a very small team & they all have families & want to get home to them instead of go out for drinks, which is understandable.
It is good that my fiance has his friends & we all go out together in couples but it would be nice to have a girl to chat too as well, I get along with his sister which is cool.
Although I do call my fiance my g a y best friend as he does love to shop & go to cafe's lol

    Hooray for Di Dee.

Our latest (legal) druggee. Here's hoping the drugs make the cancer feel really tired and sick and go away even.

And here's to internet in hospitals (do they have that yet where you're at?).

That sucks. Did the ones that didn't show up RSVP? At least you can feel totally ok about not inviting them to the wedding.

I had a Greek and Afghan wedding there was 350 invited, 330 showed up I think. I only knew about 60 of them

Well i even thought it was over the top, considering I didn't know most of these people. husbands culture in regards to weddings is really about showing off to any and everyone :/ I had a good time so it all turned out ok lol.

For my mum's birthday - since I couldn't possibly afford it myself at the time, I asked everyone - in lieu of a gift - to cough up $75 for the dinner (in a posh restaurant) and grog. Most guests were ok with that. There were a couple of ancient rellies that were offended even when various other rellies offered to pay for them.
