Maybe you can enlighten me Di. What's up with every young person getting inked these days ?? I just don't get it. Shades of me becoming an old fogey I suspect ....

Just the rebellion, going against authority kinda thing that we all went through in various forms. They were told they could have all the tats they wanted after their 18th birthday, (they would have to pay for them) One is nearly 30, the other 25 and not a tat on either of them, lol.

But can you tell me why everything young thing under/around 30ish is "branded" these days please ?? It's permanent. It's not like hair colour or a weird cut & style that will grow out. I really want to try & understand this.

I don't think the 'future' is something they really think about. They live in the 'here and now' and right now it's fashionable.

I have to say I do, secretly, quite like some of them

I have to admit to prejudice here. My brother & a boyfriend were both in the services. I can also still vividly remember seeing the concentration tats on survivors' arms that I met when I was younger.

I don't like big one's or too many but if it's subtle AND in a place that is easily covered up if need be for work etc then I don't mind. Although I do wonder about some of these Oriental symbols and whether they do actually mean what they are supposed to.

Now that is a little scary. Imagine if you read that when you'd just given birth to a cute little bundle of joy on 8 Nov.
