She just about raised me. She probably had her faults, but she was perfect in my eyes. She was so much like the Queen Mum including a love of a "tipple." When she was ill in bed with some sort of sniffle or other, she get me to make a cup of tea & add just "half a dash" of brandy for "medicinal" purposes. I'd present the cup, she'd take a big sip & order me back to the kitchen to add the "dash" as I'd clearly forgotten her instructions. Repeat, repeat, repeat & before you know it, I'd be thinking "Enjoying that cup of brandy with your tea Gran ?" All my happiest childhood memories were with my Grandmother & she instilled some pretty good morals for living properly ... which I totally ignored until about 10 years ago. If only I'd have listened who knows where I'd be today ??
