is right, was a monty python reference to arguing / insult contests and the like. (fight club).

I find now that young people just don't "get" Monty Python refs - argh, my age is showing.

Google is your friend if you want to see the whole skit. And if you think it's silly - you'd be right. Silly is pretty much the point.

And while we're posting about fight club... look up the Black Knight skit from the Holy Grail too. Seems appropriate somehow.

I love the bit in Holy Grail where they compare the weight of the girl and the goose and they weigh the same

Heh Hyacinth !!! Were you a fan of "The Goons" ?? Every Sunday afternoon, I have my ear pressed to the radio speaker intently listening, so I wouldn't miss the next gag. The ABC Shop had them on CD a few years back, so I went bananas & got 18 CD's with 4 eps on each one.

Hmm, me thinks "too much boring information" for our younger readers.

But you've got no arms and no legs...

"He's fallen in the Waaa ter" - (sound of toilet flushing)

I loved that. I don't remember much else of the Goons, but had a few of Spike Milligan's books.

It's been fantastic having the CD's to re-listen & laugh at all over again. OH is a fair bit younger than me. I'd told him about The Goons, but he just didn't understand my love of them until we bought the CD's & started listening. He's just as big a fan as me these days.

    I second that...couldn't give a toss! If you don't like me...ignore me like I have done...easy peasy!

    Wow. Amazing!

Reading through this I realise there are people here who don't like each other. I mean, der, that's obvious.

Yet all those specific members who have a problem with each other , I like immensely. I see good things in every one of them.

Human nature is such a funny thing. Lol.

I think it's timely then DA, to kick off with a classic Monty Python song at this juncture .... All together then ... after me .... "Always look on the bright side of life" .... commence whistling people.

    Oh GSD's - you are a total crack-up.

Ho hum, I can't whistle though.
