    Default Ruby's first birthday today

Well, my baby turned one today, so that means she'll be well behaved from now on, right ???

We had a long sleep-in then a huge walk along the dog beach, then I treated her to a hydrobath at the vet, she gave the vet nurse lots of kisses and loved her bath. I took her into City Farmers and bought some bones, the girls all thought she was so well behaved (LMAO, more like buggered from her long walk) and they told her to sit and gave her treats, they loved her.

She's demolished a chicken carcass and now she's flaked out, clutching her favourite toy...

She brings me so much love and joy, love her to bits, even with all the demolition, destruction and de-stuffing she does...

Really pleased that you and your pup enjoyed her first birthday ! 'She will be well behaved from now on ?' - as you said and laughed - I think that is definitely the right attitude to have.

My pups - I celebrated their first birthdays - with a lot of relief - one that they were still alive and survived and achieved their first birthday - and most importantly we were all reasonably sane !

Have heaps of fun with your pup and look forward to many more birthdays !

Thanks guys, she's still asleep, slowly slipping further off the chair, lol.

OM the big dogs grow so much in the first year don't they? I remember the day I got her, she was 4 months old and fit into my little dog's old collar and she weighed 11kgs, now she's 30kgs.

Hoping she'll fill out a bit, but she's healthy, got a lovely shiny coat, beautiful nature, and best of all she doesn't bark... just need to work on the boisterous behaviour with smaller dogs than her! Because my hubby wrestles on the floor with her, she thinks everyone and everything is a potential wrestling partner

Haha yes, I can totally relate. My boyfriend stirs him up when he is home.. With me he is a total sook and loves cuddling and lazing around. With the kids, he can be a bit rough at times, and I suppose I can't blame him, they smother the absolute shit out of him. I have to tell them to leave him alone sometimes. When we first got Oskar he was about 7 kg, haha so cute, and now he is around the 25 mark...he has turned into such a handsome pooch. The old dears love him when we go for walks lol.

Ruby is indeed a beautiful girl, I love that photo with her fave teddy. Oskar is the same with the boisterous behaviour with smaller dogs. lol.

    Happy birthday Ruby!

Isn't the first year just the best! I celebrated Molly's first 'birthday' beginning of the year (she's 3, but it was the first year we've had her since adoption) and i still can't get over how much her personality & even looks have changed! That first year is truly special. I'm sure she's appreciative of all you've done for her special day. It's cool to know there are owners out there that make a big deal. I remember i bought her a doggie cake and people thought i was bonkers! I can't see what the problem is!

LOL Cav, yes her halo is pure at times and then, when I come home from work and open the door and can hear her tail thumping against the wall and her ears are pinned back and her eyes are twice the normal size, I can see the red devil horns where that halo once was (and the fluff sticking out from between her teeth from her latest conquest) ...

Here is proof of alleged de-stuffing and one of her when she was a baby with a big konky nut bump on her noggin ... lol ...
