Red face Share your sad storys! We all have them.

I think it would be an awesome idea to share all our sad animal stories, whether it's having to rehome your pet. (As i have to) or Having to let them go to doggy heaven, Etc.

Even if it has a happy ending! PLease share your stories with me.

Edit: Let's post both happy and sad stories. Just any animal stories. I would really love to hear them and i'm sure alot of other's would too. :)

I'm a big sooky la-la too DD, I've been boosting the profits of Kleenex tissues reading threads on here lately.

I can't even watch a full episode of Bondi Vet without constantly changing channels so I'll just have the occasional peak in here

Let me get the ball rolling, eh?
The pups were 6 weeks old when I was diagnosed with cancer. I was always going to keep Jodi, Jessie was going to my father in Law. River and Bandit's home had fallen through. Originally it was just to be River but when I was saying I had to find a home for Bandit she said her son would love him. After that I was so very grateful. From then on though they could not be contacted, messages left etc and I was told after a while by a 3rd party that they had changed circumstances and could no longer take the pups.

I was in no condition to try and find 2 homes so a few weeks later I went through Radar rescue. I was happy to keep them till a home was found.

They were listed on pet rescue.
For the next day or so I was so not wanting Bandit to go. Thought hubby would have a fit keeping 2 pups. I didn't even bother to discuss it with him.
I told hubby that I would not be able to hand him over, I would be far too emotional and I would upset them and would he drive them over to Rescue.

    He said no.

I was gutted. Said then fine, I would have to drive them...thanks a lot. I started to cry.

He looked at me and said he would take River but not Bandit. That if Bandit would help me fight my cancer then he stays with us.

I grew up on a large cattle grazing property... I've lost far to many dogs. More than someone my age probably should have... so pretty much all of my stories revolve around death. One of the sadder ones was about one of our pups Maddie. I had given her a bath a day earlier and for some reason I didn't take her collar off when I did it. Anyway that day we were sitting out the front yard and I was trying to get her to walk up the stairs, she wouldn't go and I thought she was just being silly so pulled her up to the top (I was only young and stoopid lol) anyway when we got to the top I realised she couldn't actually move her back legs. Turns out that she has a paralysis tick under her collar that if I had of taken it off of her when I bathed her we would have found it. By the time we had discovered the tick it was too late, since we didn't have much money we couldn't take her to the vet so had to watch her suffer. The saddest thing was leaving for school on her last day knowing that was the last time I would see her alive.

Another one, we had a Stafforshire Bull Terrier named Jarrah, he was a gorgeous but crazy little boy who would sleep on my bed every night with me. He went missing one day, we thought he must have been stolen. Some time later I was walking through our paddocks and could see something black in the distance, at first I didn't think anything of it but thought I should go and see if it is a kangaroo or something. It wasn't and turned out to be Jarrah. We aren't sure what killed him but there was a bitch on heat on the next property over so we thought he must have been going for a wonder. He was one of my favourite dogs I have owned.

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

Aw that is such a sad story! But with some happy endings. I love happy endings. So has bandit helped you through it? Animals are so amazing like that.
