    Default Animal Cruelty

Ok my boyfriend and I were in Penrith on the weekend, and we were there for a good 3-4 hours. Where we parked, it was near this run down old station wagon, covered in stickers and what ever, and attached to the tow ball was this thick heavy chain, and this poor dog was tied up to it. The dog looked filthy, underfed and was clearly exhausted. It had a bowl of water with it that was almost empty and the water was dirty. I was so upset when I saw this. There were other people standing around looking for the owner, but no one knew where on earth this person could be. Even once my bf and I had finished in Penrith the poor dog was still there. I took photos of the number plate and a distance shot.

I don't know whether I should report it or not?

Better to report it then to wish you had done something if the dog gets sick or even dies.

    Hey! Well done!
you're proof that there's people out there that care and try to make a difference. Alot of people would watch and not do anything...sadly people that leave their dogs like that get away with it alot of the time...makes me sick!

Am glad you took a photo (especially with the number plate which is traceable) and reported it. It's much better than everyone just shaking their head sadly and walking away - leaving poor pooch to it's fate.

Don't forget everyone - authorities can only act on animal cruelty if they know it's happening. They're not psychic and, unless it happens in front of them, they largely rely on public information.
