Default I Can't Believe What She Just Did!

I took Taya out in the car to her favourite place for walkies. I decided to get petrol on the way home. After filling up, I put some air in my tyres. When I was doing one of the rear tyres the car shook and I thought Taya must have just done something weird like chase a fly. After a bit I looked up (from squatting) and I couldn't see her head - I thought she was just laying down. I went to the other side to do the last tyre and looked inside the car. Tay had jumped out of the window!! WTF?!

I said to the guy waiting to do his tyres.. umm my dog just jumped out of the car. He said he hadn't seen her, but then two seconds later spotted her out the front of the servo building. Thank DoG!!

I can't believe she jumped. She has only done that once before, and I was standing right near the door. When I pop into the shops and she's in the car I always leave the window right down... never a problem.

    Weird!

    Wow! That's really scary!

Poppy is ALWAYS clipped into her harness when in the car!

She is such a GOOD jumper I prefer to know she is secured!

Pedro once jumped out through a half-cracked window, across the road and into a paddock full of sheep. Took me 15 minutes to get him back and the whole time I was expecting a farmer to appear with a rifle.....needless to say he's now harnessed in the car!

And was I dressed for stomping through paddocks and climbing under barbed wire fences? NO.

    Default something very funny

One my friend took his dog in the car to go to the city to finish something.
During the trip he had a filling that the tyre is not ok.
He stoped and go out to check the tyre. He left the car working and close the door because of the dog.
While he looking the tyre, the dog start jumping in the car and it succeed to lock the doors!!!
Friend start walking around the car and than he decided to go home on foot, for spare keys.
scene was really interesting: working car, locked, with dog inside , and all that for 30 minutes, maybe even more

Roxie has done something similar. It was a really hot summers day, and I drove down to the local butchers. Took Rox, she was still newish and didn't like the car so we were taking her as much as possible to get her used to it. I didn't have a lead to clip into the seat so I just tied her lead to the seatbelt, which was clipped in.

Anyway, I got back in the car, windows down, then noticed this HUGE spider right near me!! It wasn't even on the window, it was IN the car, just above where I put the keys! I freaked out, stopped the car in the middle of the driveway of the shop and bolted out. These two old italian men stopped and asked what was wrong, and laughing, one pulled out his hankie and started to swat at the spider (which was HUGE, it must have been in my car for ages :O). Roxie, who had been sitting in the car with a 'what the hell are you doing?' face started to freak out when she saw the hankie waving about, so she started squirming and then jumped out of the window!!!! Because she was tied to the seat, when I ran around to save her, she was just hanging there, banging against the door.

It was the funniest, most horrible chaotic five minutes I've ever had at the butchers! We were all ok in the end, even though it took a bit of convincing from the men to actually get me back in the car. The spider was never caught, she ran back inside to the engine somewhere so when I got home I just sprayed the crap out of everything. Haven't seen her since.

Roxie loves the car now. The look on her face though...LOL.... not sure if it makes me or her the crazy one!

Haha - Nova did that once as well. We were at our breeders picking up food and he absolutely LOVES it there. I had forgotten his lead so left him in the car with the window down but he wasn't having any of it. Jumped right out!

Our new car had rear windows that don't go down all the way and he's bigger now so it doesn't happen any more. Was pretty funny when it did though.
