    Default RuRu the Fish...er Dog...

I've started walking Roxie every day now, sometimes twice a day, once by ourselves and once with her boyfriend (they're both spayed, he's a complete gentleman lol). Today for our afternoon walk her friend couldn't come, so we went by ourselves down to the local park where I can take her off leash.

The park is a compilation of tennis courts, lawn bowls, two football fields and a running track, so it's pretty big. Roxie doesn't fetch so we just run about and play.

For some reason there was a HUGE puddle on one of the football fields today. It was about 10m long and at some points maybe 5 inches deep. Well, as soon as Roxie saw it she ran IN it. She was bounding about really happily and I was laughing. Until she sat down in it. And rolled. Then wandered over to a nice big dusty area and scampered around there for a bit. She was filthy. By that point I didn't care though, I was going to have to wash her anyway so I threw some sticks in and let her run around in the water a bit longer.

She loved it. Ah it's days like this that make me so glad to have a dog

i love it when i see a dog being happy and rolling around and mucking about in dirt and mud the only requirement i have is that they let me tidy them up before they come inside!! (try wrestling a ruddy great big hairy muddy wet GSD into being toweled off!!)

Haha thanks DA. I don't think she's very dog-like at the moment, sprawled out on my bed trying to put her head on my pillow.

Laura, I would love to wrestle with your GSD!! I adore them, but I can imagine bath time would be pretty horrendous. My childhood foxy chihuahua used to LOVE bath time, including the hair dryer, towel, brush and even getting her nails painted!

Ooh I have heard of those. Can you do the car at the same time?

I might have to find one just to go see how it all works. It would be nice to not have to vacuum up all the wet hair that's been shaken everywhere.
