    Default Ziggy and Her Cage....

We bought a cage and started with the training on Monday night. We set it up in the living room and gave her all her food only in the cage. Zig is a very timid girl concerning new things and so she was very suspicious of the cage... When she tried to get to her food it looked like she did pushups . She went in with her front legs as far as possible so that her hind legs didn't touch the cage and then she bent down Out she came with one big backward jump (during which she usually hit the top of the cage which made a loud noise and Zig disappeared into the other corner of the living room). On Friday she went in the first time with all four legs and came out of the cage by turning around in it and walking out like a normal dog . So yesterday I put her bed in it and after she walked up and down a couple of times she was brave enough to go in and lie down and sleep!!

Here is she with some of her toys in the cage (we were cleaning yesterday and it was sooo convenient to put all the toys away in the cage ):

She was getting bored and destroyed the toilet paper roll

After we were done with the cleaning we moved the cage to Ziggys spot in the living room. Zig didn't like it... Took her about two hours (and some treats in the end because I couldn't look at it anymore) to go back in and sleep on her bed. She still isn't 100% convinced but we are getting there

Nice story! Do you want to take the cage for the car, too, or only for the living room? I think Ziggy is a very brave dog, Lilly wouldn't go there voluntarily... I would have a lot of training...

    Thanks guys!

mitte - Ziggy loves toilet paper roll. But the best we ever had - we bought a new rug and it was rolled up on a cardboard roll. About 2 metres long and very firm cardboard. Zig was in heaven

Ka - The cage doesn't fit into the car.... I simply got it to get Ziggy used to it. She will have to go into a cage in December because we take the ferry to Tasmania and eventually she will have to go into a cage when we fly back to Europe. So I figured it is better to get her used to it now then when we are on the ferry....

I'm missing out on some good stories here!! I'm always in a hurry but I am glad I took the time to scroll down and open some threads! Ziggy is so photogenic! She is adorable in her crate. Hope her injection today will do her wonders and she will feel ok pretty soon!
