Same here! I remember on one of my first shifts volunteering with the RSPCA we had 2 litters of 10 pups +, I was in heaven! haha

Thanks for the kind words guys..glad ya enjoy my yarns..

I'll write more when somthing worth writing happens. The mutts seem to be getting used to me these days. Theres always the usual culprits who would try to kill me if they could get through the fences but thats just all teeth and growling. I dont even find them entertaining anymore.....just makes me wonder if they ever get out they'll hurt someone which wouldnt be nice for anyone. I'm still thinking Heelers ....especially the red ones are the ones to watch the most. It's not that i dont like them.....they are just sneaky buggers who give me more grief than any other breed i come across.

The devil dogs house is due next week so hopfully that'll be interesting.

Well its been a while since i updated this thread so here go's.

Devil dog is no more goneskee ....as in moved out to harras some other poor gas guys. I should be relieved but i actually miss him.

Still no major bites (touchwood) but theres a few new dogs on the run so who knows what the future will bring.

We have a new Staffy pup who's a real handfull....i can only open the gate just enough to squeeze myself through and even then hes jamming his nose between me and the timber gate trying to force his way past and into the big wide world. I feel a bit sorry for him...maybe he dosnt get walked enough.
Anyone he's a cute little bugger and once the gates shut he focuses all his attention on me and that includes all his sharp little puppy fangs !!! Jumping up constantly i cant help but pat the little scrapper but every hand that trys to land on his head meets teeth !! LOL...he gives me a hell of a touch up the little hypo jaws !! Then it takes 2 of us to get me out. One day this little buggers gunna beat us and get out ,i just now it !!

So that's the good dog story....bad dog one goes like this.

2 Xbreeds 'things'...look like wild african dogs that i've known since they where both pups get worse and worse with every visit. These things gang up and thrive of each others aggressive craziness. I hate putting my hand over the fence to unlock thier gate as one gave me a nip a few months back. So they have had thier chances and our 'niceness' is all used up. These dogs show aggression so now the get it right back.....
I've got them sused now though and the same method seems to work with each visit.

The worst of the 2 always meets me at the gate so now i reach over quick then pull my hand back even quicker without even touching the latch. This sets the bugger right of and he starts jumping against the gate trying to get me. He can get his head above the short fence/ gate height so on about the 4th jump he gets it....POW ! RIGHT IN THE KISSER !!
Nothing to hard, just a slap in the side of the chops and he dosnt like it one bit. As he's contemplating what just happened i open the gate and charge the bugger telling him to piss off in my scariest voice. So far each time ive done it they have both took off under the house so i can get my job done with my workmate watching my back. Time slows right down now as i'm praying for it to speed up while i watch the bare dirt track that leads under the house waiting for the flash of 2 angry mutts who seek vengance on my legs. So far so good....(touchwood again LOL)

I also got chased out of a yard by a big Doberman.....the cunning pooch sat and watched me the whole time calm as day, so i'm walking out cool as with about 10 metres to go to the gate when i felt a presence right up my clacker.....Yep, the buggers showing me out like a Roid raging Moari bouncer....i reckon i took 2 steps to cover that 10 metres and my attempt at a big tough ....."Get out of it".....came out sounding like a banshee that got kicked in the nuts.....somthing like "Getyyyyyeeeoooowowwwwwwwaaaaa !!".
He didnt get me but the noise i made was even worse than getting bit.....shamefully i walked back to the tanker trying to hide my embarrasment but my workmate new dam well i just shat my pants big time !! He mentioned it after a few minutes of silence just when i thought he might not have heard it LOL.

Next time i wont take my eyes of him and will walk out backwards.

Aw man, Sean... that's a good story but tough...

I'd be playing a version of 52 pick up with these puppies, ie lots of kibble scattered everywhere... so that they're food hunting not gas man chomping... And they look forward to seeing you instead of trying to eat you (literally).

Did I ever tell you guys the story about our bull terrier cross (Labrador maybe) and the postman? Nobody was allowed in... but if they threw a tennis ball, that was different... The dog would not eat someone while he had a tennis ball in his mouth. So there was a tennis ball in the letter box for the postman (or any other guest) to throw so they could get to the front door safely.

I don't think people who leave their gas bottles guarded by fierce dogs can complain if you chuck kibble at them.

Not a bad idea Hya...but peer pressure would stop me from mentioning that to the lads....they'd think ive gone soft !! LOL cant have that now can we !!

I'm sure the reason why the owners of the 2 x breeds dont have a go at for me slapping thier dog is because they dont like cold showers....or having to microwave thier dinner.
Somtimes we can really mess peoples lives up if we let them run out. Thats why you should always be nice to the gas man LOL. Viscious dogs, locked gates and not numbering your house clearly is the best way to make the gas man cranky !! Smoking anywhere near me while i work is also a good way to get knocked out.

Did anyone see the gas plant in the USA go up in flames the other day ?? Thats the sort of place i work in when we arnt on the road delivering gas. One little mistake and its KABOOM !!!
