Yogi started as a foster, he was 6 yrs old and been left to rot in a yard when the novelty of a new pup wore off for the kids (same old story). He was flea ridden, had bad joints from lying on concrete tied up i suspect as he also had pressure sores, was worm infested, ugly coat, blind in one eye and an round really sad fellow.
But he had the most gentle and loving nature and was so obediant, and would jump off a bridge if he thought it would make you happy.
Yes, we miss him a lot, he was PTS at 11 when the mr author itis got to much, and he went blind in the other eye.
At the time i read up on how blind dogs cope, and many do very well but he didnt, I suspected cancer towards the end as well as he used to yelp when he bumped something, or knocked himself, and along with the pain...it was time to let him go.

My cavalier stopped eating that night when he didnt come home. We had to hand /force feed for nearly 6 months..she grieved terribly for him, was very sad.
Thats what I hate about pets, they all go at some point,

I always seem to recommend cavvies to people as their first dog, kids dog, gentle dog, old people's dog and so on...I love their personality and just all-round cuteness.

I have been training a feww through trails now and they are quite good at it..love it. Such sweet dogs

My friends had 2 newfies and they also have a sweet loving quiet nature with a mischievious streak if they think your not looking. I remember my friend pulling her hair out on many occassions when at xmas time they opened all the pressies and found the newfies had ACTUALLY got jars of chocolate coated peanuts and unscrewed the lids and eaten them all, also the coloured popcorn and anything else edible under the tree.

Was really funny, they did it every year, my lot would also do that i they had half a chance
I always thought the 2 breeds very similar despite the massive size difference, I love Newfies
