Very nice dog, but remember showing does not a BC or kelpie make. The true test of these dogs is their working ability and you can get your dog assessed for suitability to be placed on a working register - doesnt have to be purebred just needs to have good instincts.

I have purebred Border Collie and Kelpie on working registers. Both their pedigrees stretch back 8 generations and my BC has a number of international herding champions in his lines from Wales and Scotland. But they are not recognised by the ANKC as either a BC or a kelpie and are registered on their sporting register so I can compete in agility.

    She's 8

She has a small amount of working ability, no where near enough to breed from though.
She would have had beautiful puppies, but she's a crossbreed(we're 95% sure anyway) and doesn't have enough work instinct. Besides, she's a rescue, so obviously the Mornington Peninsula has too many working dogs at the moment. Maybe if I was up on my Grandpas sheep farm in NSW, I would have considered it. But she's desexed and too old. I can always pretend though

Oh, and I don't have enough money or time to become a breeder
