    Default More SPRV Rescues

    1. Karli and Charlotte - the tanks aka Thelma & Louise came in from Mildura a few weeks ago. 3 yrs old, lived in a garage. Never walked, often not fed! Neither had ever been wormed, vaccinated, microchipped or desexed. They both had revolting eyes and consequently both needed entropion surgery.

N.B. Charlotte is missing an eye.

    2. & 3. Charlotte

    4. & 5. Karli

    6. & 7. Mattrix who came from the RSPCA in Yagoona. Has had entropion surgery was supposed to be DA, haven't seen any evidence of this at all

    8. & 9. Yoshi - was Einstein could have been Hitler when he arrived!! Came from Mildura pound, his eyes were pools of blood when he arrived. Obvious he had been beaten and starved. Has now had entropion surgery and been to Wellington Park Boot Camp and is now a delightful boy! Saw the vet last week for a check up on his eyes.....vet says he is now fat! lol

    10. One eyed Charlotte again!

they are just gorgeous, so sad about the eyes though really did have to hold back some tears, only thing that helped is how happy they look in the photos.

I just love all those rolls!

I seem to get a lot through Victoria who need eye surgery, I would estimate that 1 in 5 has NOT needed surgery this year!!

On the upside, we don't seem to suffer from Shar Pei Fever attacks down here like they do up north, so for that reason, I am happy to do the eye surgeries, as long as I can avoid SPF

They only have stitches in for 2 weeks and then they are way more comfortable. No longer do their eye lashes rub on their eyeballs and they can see comfortably. Please don't let the surgeries upset you! They are so much better off post op!

Also, the plural of Shar Pei is actually......Shar Pei......no "s"!!

So she is having the entropion surgery then? If the eye lashes are rubbing on her eyeballs, she will feel so much better post surgery.....you'll have a new dog!

ETA Yoshi is a very sexy beast these days!! And I too am in love with Karli aka Louise or the tank!! She is only the size of a SBT - well the size of Bella anyways

People are horrible. Those poor pups. They are all looking very good though despite their ordeals.

    Yep
The whole eye is going as vet doesn't think a tuck will be enough to stop the continued trauma and infections, she doesn't have sight now in that eye so it shouldn't be a drama for her ( for me is another matter ) and she will then hopefully be pain free for good

edit to add -Karli doesn't look that little ! oohh a little pocket rocket! She really is quite lovely.

aww what a gorgeous group of lucky Pei's..

SHAR.. please forgive my ignorance, i'm not up to speed on every breed of dog, are the eye problems a hereditary issue in Pei's, does every Pei need the eye surgery & is it also from bad breeding practices, eg non testing of hereditary diseases before breeding etc???
