We put peanut butter and a few small treats in Troopa's. He's not all that interested in it though. Might need to get him a large one as I got him a medium last time and thinking maybe it's too small to get his tongue into.

Do you put the peanut butter and treats in at the same time?

I sometimes mix kibble with yogurt and put that in. I sometimes put kibble and then dog casserole in on top to hold the kibble in. I sometimes mix kibble and casserole and freeze it all before I hand it over. I sometimes put a smear of promite in so that there is a little bit along the inside from quite deep to the big hole at the top. Same with peanut butter. Sometimes I put kibble in and sort of stick the top up with peanut butter - so all the kibble gets the peanut flavour. Sometimes I freeze kibble with stock in the kong and put the whole lot in a cream container so it's one big iceblock with the kong in the middle.

don't put treats in it very often. usually put the treats - one or two in an "everlast fun ball'. And I've got a mooing treat ball that I put kibble in that she can push around the floor to get the kibble out. I suspect if she wanted she could smash that particular treat ball but so far, she hasn't been interested in doing that.

Hope that gives you some ideas. To get a long period of doggy entertainment - you'd need several kongs and freeze the contents. They're just so good at emptying them - much quicker than the booklet and some websites suggest. But if the contents are a little bit gooey - they can't just tip the kong upside down and shake everything out in one go.

Thanks. Some great ideas there. I got a problem though... Dora doesn't particularly like her kibble. The only way she eats it is when she KNOWS that shes not getting anything else, and when I soak it in chicken stock.

yes, thats where mixing the kibble with something she does like and sticking that in the kong helps.

And - to be completely bizzare - Frosty prefers her kibble out of the kong or treat ball than out of her dog bowl - and I do wash the dog bowl from time to time.

Frosty loves the home made casserole - so mixing that with the kibble helps a lot.

I don't know what else Dora likes, but what ever it is - you could try mixing it with the kibble and sticking it all in the kong.

One time I put a couple of natures gift mini treats in the everlast and fillled it up with kibble and Frosty - emptied out all the kibble and only ate the treats. She only emptied out the kibble because she could smell the treats.

How enthusiastic she is about kibble depends entirely how hungry she is. She'd rather have trash kibble like supercoat than the stuff I give her but them's the breaks.

Just tried peanut butter out. Don't think Dora likes it very much... licked the first layer off and left the kong alone.
