aww sleep in's, i get it once a week on Sunday until about 7-8am, depending on what time my OH goes out to get the morning paper, then Floyd is off doing he's usual deed of waking me up.

It's got me beat why Floyd wakes me up as soon as my OH drives off to work (around 5am). I open the back door thinking he wants out for loo run, but he does'nt even bother to go outside etc, he just goes straight back to he's bed & sleeps until it's he's breakie time around 8am

    Hi Dorte..

"If" i do go back to bed, no he does'nt wake me again, he just lays in he's bed waiting patiently for me or Lily to get up & give him breakie or to be let outside etc, he's such an easy pleased, well mannered / loving boy

The only thing i can think of as to why he wakes me is, to check that i'm still alive & ok

Both you, I & other SBT owners know only to well just how much our beloved breed are "emotional worry warts", aww bless em for being such loving dogs. They are so very well deserving of the title "The Nanny Dog" .
I'm sure they think that they are humans.

I think you are right...he might just be checking on you. Invite him up in the bed and go back to sleep Perhaps he thinks...the man of the house is gone, so I get his spot in the bed

Sumo would love NOTHING more than sleep in our bed, but even I think that is pushing it a bit... I absolutely LOVE my babies, but having 2 drooling...snoring Staffies in my bed...don't think so I don't go and sleep in their crates....HAHAHAHA

opps you forgot the bit about "farting"

My OH doesn't permit Floyd sleeping on our bed, Floyd knows it & he don't even try to get on our bed. I do let Floyd share the lounge with me when we have our little cat naps during the day, BUT only when OH isn't at home. OMG Floyd is a smart cookie, if he's on the lounge with me & he hears OH car pull up then he will jump off the lounge & lay on the floor or on he's own bed.
