Default Those are some strong instincts!

Went to feed the chooks this morning when i found one of them had died... no idea what happened to her, didn't look sick and none of the others look sick either.

Anyway so I took her down the paddock to dispose of... of course Dodge came with me... I put the hen on the ground... and Dodge started (attempting to) herd this dead chicken!! I couldn't believe it, she was moving around the hen, trying to predict where it might move. She was definitely not hunting, I've seen her hunting and its very different, she was definitely herding this dead chook

Our chooks are really used to Dodge, so she can get really close (close enough to get pecked on the nose) while herding them. So Dodge was right up near this dead chook, expecting it to move!

She eventually realised the hen was dead... there are feathers everywhere on the farm now...
