Ooh I had never thought of using coconuts as chew toys, do they make a mess? Bella would love to rip into one of those.

A little bit of mess but its easy to clean up. Much easier than shredded paper or plastic ......or toy stuffing too.

I got the idea from neighbour who's Staffy's go to town on them. So far these ones have last a week and a half which is about a week longer than any other che toy they have had.

No idea why the pics turned out so big.

I've seen a dog fight between a border collie and a labrador over a coconut... the Labrador had it, and the BC wanted it...

    Cute pics

I don't think my dogs would have any interest in coconuts! They'd probably just sniff them and walk away.

some of our fruit markets have them. The specialist fruit and veg shops, or the Adelaide central market - tho that's a bit far away from you. Places that specialise in Asian veg will have them too.

My neighbour has coconut palms and he just keeps the old ones stacked up in his garden so we all have a huge supply. They also wash up on the beach here too. My coconut palm is to young at the moment to bare fruit. Another perk of living in central QLD !!

I reckon it does a good floss job on the goofs chompers too.

To begin with they wheren't sure what to do with them so i had to get Bronx all jeed up over one like he does with soccer balls. As soon as he realised he could wreck it he got into it. This bought out the jealous side of Mojo who must have what everyone else is having. Like a couple of little kids who cant share a toy. So now they constantly swap trying to wreck each others coconut LOL.

Hahaha well I am heading up your way this weekend so I will have to have a look on the beach and see if I can find any to bring home
