At home he's an angel(mostly) and his training is coming along really well. We have sit, stay, drop, play dead, shake hands, turn right, turn left, around me(i.e run around me) and come. At the park, he's improving with recall, but still frustrating me at times lol. He actually hasn't destroyed too many things that haven't been given too him to destroy. He has a couple of old shoes which are looking less like shoes each day plus a few other bought toys. His absolute favourite toy however has been a 2lt sauce bottle, he runs around the house going crazy playing with his bottle, although I might have to start using more sauce as his bottle is getting pretty badly chewed now

He sounds like he's doing really well ... he does lots of tricks already

Funny how some dogs like simple things - Ruby loves plastic bottles too, I haven't tried the 2lt sauce bottle, might have to have a look in the fridge and see if any are close to empty!!

The sauce bottles are good as they're a stronger plastic than cordial bottles for example

I'll empty out the last bit in a sauce bottle and see what she thinks! It's day 3 of over 40 degrees today, so lucky for Ruby I'm on holidays and we're at home with the air-con on (evap but coping well)... Don't think she's moved from under an air-con vent for a few hours

'mymatejack' - thank you for the new photos ! He is absolutely gorgeous !

Any more trouble with his eye ? And what is this about a leg injury that I read in another thread ? Poor little 'Hunk' is in the 'wars' !

My pups used to love the plastic empty milk and soft drink containers. Put a peg in it and off they went ! Have you tried him with a cardboard box yet ? Doggy heaven - the bigger - the better !

    Hi Riley,

His eye has been all good since he had it operated on back in December - thankfully!

He's done himself a couple of injuries in his short life. His front left and rear left are both stiff and sore when he first gets up after laying down for a long time but after a few seconds you'd never know. Haven't had it looked at by the vet yet and i'm hoping that with a couple of weeks rest it will just sort itself out. The vet is coming to give him his heart worm vac the week after next so i'll get it looked at then. I'll be taking him for a swim today, hopefully some load free excercise will help.

Havent' tried him with a cardboard box, but i know it would end up needing to be vaccuumed up if i did lol

The toys are a diminishing thing for us. Mags loved stuffed toys and then all of a sudden decided they all needed to be shredded and eaten. I worried about the effect of long pieces of rope and stuffing in her gut so stopped them. Now her passion is brooms, buckets, empty plastic water bottles, a basketball and bones. I have given up the commercial toys, like pouring money down a drain, must have spent a fortune on them earlier.Might try a boat roller or two though.....
Gorgeous looking dog, he has the " You can't be cross with me I am terribly cute look" down pat

Pups can be such 'klutzes' - knocking growth plates, twisting the wrong way with zoomies - you name it - they do it ! So, if you are not getting him seen for a little while then my suggestion would be - a lot of crate rest/quiet time, walking only on lead - swimming is fine - and NO Zoomies or free exercise , massaging with ice/liniment on suspected sore spots - but also don't forget the shoulders and hip areas. A lot of time we may think that they have hurt a joint lower in the leg - but really it is the shoulder or hip area !

Where is your sense of adventure ! Sure saves space in the recycle bin !
Good Luck ! Don't be so shy with the photos ! He will be all 'growed' up before we know it !
